The S6 active will allow you to slip in a microSD on the opposite side as your SIM card BUT it will not accept/register it to be used in your phone. This was one of the many cons that came with.

Incipio’s clever little offGRID battery case for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge doesn’t just add extra juice to your Galaxy smartphone. A flick of a switch also gives you microSD support, so all you need to do is slot your memory card into the case and you can copy files back and forth from your mobile. The case supports cards of up to 128GB in size.
You can also buy memory card readers that slot into your phone’s micro USB slot, adapting them into a microSD card slot. One such example is the iKross Multi-Function Micro-USB to OTG/SD Memory Card Reader Adapter, which can be snagged on Amazon for just £8. Again, just add a microSD memory card and you’re good to go. It’s a bit bulkier and more cumbersome than the Incipio case, but it does the job.
If you’ve got a ton of HD movies that you want to take away on holiday, a better solution will be a hard disk that offers wireless streaming to your mobile device. Samsung offers its own in the form of the Wireless Mobile Media Streaming Device, which can be bought for £130 from Amazon.
It’s a 1.5TB drive, which gives you enough space for roughly five hundred Blu-ray movies, and it supports up to five mobile devices at once so the whole family can stream what they want to their phones or tablets. There’s even a USB charging port to power up your Galaxy S6 if it’s running low.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + has now been published and thus the following question is addressed:
Can the storage of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ be expanded by using a memory card?
The answer to this question is unfortunately 'no'. As the normal Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + also has no micro SD card slot integrated.
With this Samsung follows a new strategy to encourage the buyer to to buy a smartphone with more storage space. Apple uses this tactic for years which is extremely lucrative for the company.
Unfortunately, the Micro USB card slot, however, have been for many users a reason not to buy an iPhone but a Samsung smartphone. Whether the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + with its technical data can convince otherwise? Everyone needs to decide that for themselves well.
